The First Rule of Flying

Thanks to everyone who came out for this year’s event! That sing-along and dance party was such a lovely note to end on. We had a great time, and we hope you did too.

This year’s donation of $6,180.00 has been confirmed, bringing the North Texas Browncoats’ lifetime donation total to $86,985.17.

You guys are amazing!!

And we have some great news for you, about keeping this mighty little ship in the air. Not one, but two people have stepped up to take the helm. We’re very happy to introduce Ashley Peebles and Jason McNally as our new flight crew. They’ll be taking over these events in 2020, and we have every confidence they’ll carry the standard high and proud. We’ll be helping them through the transition, so if you’re interested in joining this new crew, please let us know at northtexasbrowncoats@gmail.com, and we’ll put you in contact with them. That email address, along with the management of this website and our social media accounts, will be passed over to them by the end of the year.

And finally, because it seems appropriate and I can’t resist the opportunity to use my favorite quote, I’ll cite the first rule of flying:

Love. You can learn all the math in the verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don’t love, she’ll shake you off just as sure as the turnin’ o’ worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down. Tells you she’s hurting ‘fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Love has kept us in the air for 14 years of doing good works, through three crew tenures and now into a fourth: love for this ‘verse, love for justice, and love for this, our own little crew. Love will keep us in the air for a long time to come. This switch is just a little turbulence, we’ll pass through it soon enough.
