Dear North Texas Browncoats,
Due to the relentless presence of several other issues in my life, I’ve found it necessary to reschedule this year’s CSTS event in order to give it the attention it deserves. I think it’s better to give it all I’ve got, even if it means rescheduling, than to try and rush into it as unprepared as I currently feel. I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience the change may cause.
On a related note – we’re also moving this year! New information is as follows:
CSTS film screening and charity event:
2404 Airport Freeway
Bedford, TX 76022
These changes will hopefully be to the benefit of everyone, especially Equality Now. We now have much longer to plan, and with the addition of a new co-organizer – the wonderful Amy Johnson – we expect to put together our best CSTS event yet. Our new venue is more central to the DFW area, and it’s a beautiful theater whose event coordinator is experienced with CSTS events; she works with half a dozen other Browncoat groups across the U.S.
We expect the transition to go smoothly, with things running pretty much as they always have, although there may be some minor differences in setup. The Movie Tavern is very excited to have us, and they’ve been absolutely wonderful in accommodating our every need. We also have the freedom in our new home to plan the event for later in the day. We’re looking at a mid-afternoon – early evening time window, and we’ll let you know exact times as soon as the schedule is finalized.
In the mean time, tickets are already on sale! We encourage you to get yours early and help us cover the deposit on the theater by the end of the month. We’re also working on updating our shiny new website, and shirts should be available for pre-order by early next week.
Stay tuned for more information coming up shortly!
